The Junction Road Parklands

This is an area of open space approximately 11 hectares in size and is surrounded by developed suburbia.

It is owned by DELWP (State Govt) as well as Whitehorse Council and comprises old farmland with some remnant native vegetation. A small creek runs through this area. This location is very popular with local people for rest and recreation activities.

However although there is some basic maintenance that takes place, this open space has never been properly managed or maintained and shows signs of long term neglect.

For example - as well as BMX bike ramp excavations, a wrecked car lies on it's roof near the banks of Dunlavin Creek - undisturbed for over 40 years.

A Video Log exists on Youtube which contains many films featuring the Junction Road Parklands.
