Rubbish & Recycling

 

In April 2023 we wrote to Whitehorse Council requesting information on recycling and hard rubbish collections.

Whitehorse Council's reply:

 

a) Recycling bins – sorted for recycling and reprocessing by Visy Recycling – approx 10% of materials are
    contaminated and go to landfill.

​

b) Red lid bins are collected by JJs Waste & Recycling and transported to landfill.

​

c) Booked hard waste is collected by Cleanaway who are responsible for sorting and disposing of the material

    collected. Delays in collections are due to shortage of truck drivers
